چکیده

The hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon (g − 2) value is calculated by considering a known dispersion integral which involves the Re+e−(s) ratio. The theoretical part stemming from the region below 1.8 GeV is the largest contribution in our approach, and is calculated by using a contour integral involving the associated Adler function D(Q2). In the resummations, we explicitly take into account the exactly known renormalon singularity of the leading infrared renormalon in the usual and in the modified Borel transform of D(Q2), and map further away from the origin the other renormalon singularities by employing judiciously chosen conformal transformations. The renormalon effect increases the predicted value of the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon (g−2), and therefore diminishes the difference between the recently measured and the SM/QCDpredicted value of (g − 2). It is also shown that the total QED correction to the hadronic vacuum polarization is very small, about 0.06 %. Typeset using REVTEX

Resummations with renormalon effects for the leading hadronic contribution to the muon (g-2)

- resonance model

The hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon is parametrized by using the quark-resonance model formulated in [1]. In this context a recent prediction obtained within the ENJL model [2] can be affected by two additional contributions: the next to leading corrections in the inverse cutoff expansion and the gluonic corrections. Motivated by the necess...

Two - pion contribution to the muon magnetic moment 1

The two-pion contribution to hadronic vacuum polarization can be extracted from τ decay data when isospin violating and radiative corrections are taken into account. When the dominant corrections are applied to the photon-inclusive decay τ− → ντπ π[γ], one obtains a shift ∆aμ = (−12.0± 2.6)× 10 −10 for the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. The shift appears to be too small to reconcile the...

May 2003 THEORETICAL STATUS OF THE MUON g − 2 a

We review the present status of the theoretical evaluation of the anomalous magnetic moment of the the muon within the Standard Model. We mainly focus on the hadronic contributions in the muon g −2 due to vacuum polarization effects, light-by-light scattering and higher order electroweak corrections. We discuss some recent calculations together with their uncertainties and limitations and point...

Lattice Calculation of the Lowest Order Hadronic Contribution to the Muon Anomalous Magnetic Moment: an Update with Kogut-susskind Fermions

The anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, aμ, is now known to fantastic precision, both experimentally and theoretically. This situation naturally provides an interesting test of the Standard Model. The largest uncertainty in the calculation of aμ is associated with hadronic contributions; the lowest order in α contribution arises from the hadronic vacuum polarization of the photon. Using the ...
